Howdy,
I sent in my N-400 application on April 17th and I received FP notice to do FP on May 15th. Currently i am overseas on job assignment and wont be back untill June 10th. Do i need to send the hard copy along with a letter explaining the situation, or just send a letter with my case number?
I wanted to hold on to my FP notice hard copy in case i want to go as a walk in?

Thanks

Does your FP notice state that you can come in as a walk in every Wednesday after the initial date? If so, then USCIS gives you approximately 90 days before considering the case abandoned. The cut off date should also be listed in your FP notice in bold text.

If you have this verbiage, there is no need to send USCIS a notice. Merely come back to the US on 6/10 and walk in the first Wednesday (or whatever day they designate) and do a walk in. No need to complicate things.

If you do not have this verbiage, then you can include a copy of the FP notice with the reschedule request you send. This way they have a copy of the actual FP notice they sent you and you can hold on to the original for your records.

Thanks Lolali
this is what it says:
"Please reschedule my appointment for the next available wednesday or saturday. USCIS cannot garanty the day prefered, but will do so to the extent possible. uppon receipt of your request, you will be provided new appointment notice. please mail your request to
Houston office....etc"

so what do you think?
