Rescheduled FP, When will be next FP appointment date?

Hi
I had FP scheduled on 12/21/2001. I was unable to make that date due to personal emergency, so I requested for rescheduling by sending back the FP notice with reschedule day. Do you know how long will it take for the new FP notice?
I will greatly appreciate any responses.

Visit INS FP Center...Here is my experience...Try weekday...Avoid Mon%Sat

I had FP appointment on JAN 24 as i will be leaving to INDIA next week. I went to INS Application center to reschedule the FP. The officer was very very nice and told me i can do it now. Instade of rescheduling.
For my wife as she is already in INDIA i was told to come to office and get it done when she comes back in March. Instade of going through all the rescheduling hassel , "Just come in we will get it done." Offices answer on rescheduling.

Very pleasing experience in the INS Application Center for FP.

Check if the center is open on Saturday and if they do FP on Saturday\'s. Not all of them do.... I went in last Saturday even though I was scheduled for 01/24. No problems. They were very helpfull and asked me if I had all the necessary paper work (ID, FP notice). After showing those to them, they asked if I wanted to get it done right away. We were there for about an hour. There was no line or queue. It is a token based system and someone calls your number once in the middle to check all documents once again. Very soothing experience. They also had a TV in the waiting area.
 
Marriage and FP postponement

hi,

i am in same boat but different side. I am batchelor and i have got
finger print notice on 8th feb. I wanted to postpone as much as possible and mean time wanted to get married and apply for my wife too. Every body says postpoining will delay and will have tuff time. I am so happy to hear that which will give me a lot of buffer time to get married. can anyone tell me for how months i can postpone my FP. If i reschedule how long does it take ?

Please reply as it is crucial for me.

From what I hear, you can postpone a max of two times. The third time, they will consider your application abandoned. But am not sure.

Hi Anantha,
I just read your msg and it is a comforting feeling to know that someone else is also in the exact same situation as myself. My fingerprinting date is @ the end of Jan and I am also trying to buy more time so I can get married and file for my wife\'s GC and not have to wait for 3/4 yrs to get her here. Have you gathered any good information regarding the date rescheduling for the fingerprinting.
Also I have heard that it takes approx. 3/4 months under the current situation to get the notice for your passport stamping once you get your fingerprinting done @ which time your temporary status is no longer valid.Any ideas on that?

Finger Print Date

Hey Anantha,
When is ur rd and nd date of 485. I\'m a bachelor and filed 485 in Vermont center in July\'01 and didn\'t got my FP notice. I live in Denver, Colorado. Where do u live.

i guess it is Aug end. Till today i didnt receive my 485 receipt because of postal delay of anthrax cases.

mine is vermont center and i live in nj.
 
Quick question

For your wife, did they give you any kind of receipt indicating that she can come in for the FP in March. Did you in any case ask for a rescheduled appointment for your wife to be on the safe side?

Delay I485

hey guys,
           I am so glad i checked this site. I have had two sleepless nights. I got engaged last week. Plan to marry in May 2002. My 485 was filed sep 2001. I was trying to find ways to delay the approval so i can add my spouse.
           I have not received a FP notice yet. My service center is Nebraska ? Can i make it to May without approval. Thanks a lot for all your posting help. How do i delay my I485 approval ?
