Reschedule of FP

I have got my FP notice for 9/11 for Brooklyn ASC. Spouse notice yet to come. Spouse is currently out of country. She does not have AP but valid H4 stamp and is back in first week October.

I do not want to take a chance of my FP getting done as it may (strange as this may sound) trigger approval of 485/140 as I have responded to RFE. This would cause her to lose status.

My FP notice just gives an option of reschedule for next Wed Afternoon Or next Saturday afternoon.

I want to reschedule after Oct 1st Week.

Anyone with any experience of reschedule or anything please share.

I was out of US and received notice for FP. Attorney rescheduled FP thinking I might not be able to make it. I came after the FP day and went for FP without any issues.

Few days later received another notice for FP and as per attorney suggestion, attended that one too.
 
thanks uncsys BTW does lawyer also rcv a copy of the FP as my wife's FP also may come when we are not here. BTW i have got brooklyn NY asc. What was yours and generally how far does it get pushed to. In mycase the notice just speaks of reshedule option for next available wed or sat afternoon. What was yours ? Thanks for your replies.

... I had it in Queens. First notice asked me to appear on 03/03/2004. I came to US on 03/08/2004 and went to ASC next day. I was told at ASC that I can come only on Wed/Sat so I did it on 03/10/2004. And, second FP notice was for 04/24/2004. I am not sure if attorney requested for those dates or that was automatically assigned by ASC. BTW, attorney requested before 03/03/2004 to reschedule FP.

... Same here. Looks like only those two days (Wed & Sat) are reserved by ASC (in NYC) for FP.

Got following text from I-485 SOP (page 125):

FD-258 Fingerprint Response Purge: The INS has established a 120-day
waiting period from the date of fingerprint scheduling to allow applicants to
submit fingerprints. When an applicant fails to appear for fingerprinting or a
response is not received within that 120-day period, and the applicant has
otherwise not advised the INS of a change of address or requested that he be
rescheduled, the case must be denied for abandonment. Accordingly, after
120 days, File Maintenance must check any remaining files for receipt of a
processed FD-258 or evidence of a change of address or request for
rescheduling. Perform the task "FD-258 Fingerprint Response Purge" for
purging of all files awaiting a FBI response.

Guys,

I just got information from India that the earliest available tickets from India are on Sep 19. As you may know my FP is on the 11th Sep. which I was debating whether to postpone so that I do not have to cancel my planned vacation from 18th Sep - 2nd Oct.

My question is if I go for FP on 11th Sep. what are the chances that my 485 will get approved on/before 19th Sep and please don't look or feel shocked. Things have been happening exactly opposite of planning. Please note that my 140 is currently on RFE responded status. The approval will cause problems as my wife has no AP but valid H4.

Anyone who has heard of any such superfast approval after FP please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
