Requisites for H4 Appointment at Chennai

Hi,

Just recently I left my company A and joined company B on H-1.
Company B has already started my H-1 on regular process (as opposed to Premium Processing).

My wife's H-4 appointment is on July 28th Chennai consulate. My questions:

1. Do I need to wait until I get my I-797 for company B before my wife's H-4 appointment
2. Can company B HR issue letter with regard to my employment that would suffice the requirements for my wife's H-4 in addition to my pay stubs.
