Requirements for Passport stamping after approval....

Hi Guys,
Now that we got our approval emails, we are currently waiting to recieve the notices by post. Then I suppose we have to go to get the PP stamped.. A couple of questions here:
1) What all do we need to carry? Papers, forms, photos etc...Also can we go for stamping any time we wish to or is there a date/day specified??
2) What kind of photo do we need. Is it similar to the one given for EADs etc..side-face etc..Or is it different??? Want to go and get it clicked while we are waiting for the notices..
3) Is there any form to be filled that can be downloaded online. Any links to that..?
4) What all is done over there (at the pp office). Do they take our fingerprints again? All fingers??? (the reason I ask this is 'coz my wife cut her left mid-finger a day back...gotta make sure it heals before we go..Or is minor cuts ok?)
5) After geting approval msg. by email the things left for us to do are:
-wait for approval letters by post.
- Go for PP stamping.
-Wait for the card..
Anything else/procedure other than these?
6)The PP stamping is done in the same local office as the FPs or is it different?

1) You need to carry the following documents:
(i) Passport
(ii) Approval Notice
(iii) Current EAD,AP.
(iv) Photos

Your approval notice will specify any particular day(depends on INS office) to get stamping.

2) If u are planning for stamping before September deadline, you can use the OLD style photos else new one.

3) NO Forms to be filled up.

4) Submit your documents and Finger prints (only your Index Finger)

5) You may want to apply for new SSN card (that will removed Valid with Wokr permit ).

6) Your approval notice will mention the location where you need to go for.

Thanks Madman72 for your replies :) ...! I am bothering you again :eek: ..

2) Whats the Sept. deadline? Before Sept 1st or Sept 30? The OLD style photos are side-faced or ....???...NEW style photos are...?
5) SSN cards : Do they take my SSN card too? (Mine recd. on issue of H1-B and my wifes (H4) on EAD...? ) Where do we have to apply for new SSN cards...? Doesn't SSN remain the same?
 
USCIS will Accept both three quarter and full frontal(Passport style) photographs until Sept 1 2004 after which only full frontal color(Passport style) will be accepted.

If you have AAA member ship, go to any location you will get both photyos for $4.50 with good Quality. If you have AAAplus membership they are free.

You don't need to take SSn cards. Take expired EAD's & AP. Some times they ask.
 
I don't know about sept deadline but they don't take your SSN Card. Infact you don't need to take SSN card but keep with you, just in case...
 
If you are going to the Hartford INS office the timings are M,Tu,Th - 8:00 AM TO 3:00 PM, W,F - 8:00 AM TO 12:00 Noon. You can pick any day you wish. They also have a photographer right in the INS office, so you don't have to worry about rejection of photos(cost 11 bucks a pair).
Make sure that you take ALL your EAD's and AP's as the INS officer asked us to hand over anything that we might have.
Word of advise: Plan to be there around 7:30..sh, as we had been there this Tuesday and they stopped accepting applications by 9:30.
We were at the INS office at 7:45 AM and got out around 12:00 Noon so you can imagine how crowded it was(or how short staffed they are). They were only 2 counters open for I think about 8 different kind of applications.
 
Thanks guys for the replies :) I am still waiting for 'The mail'. I hpe we'll get it by tommorow. meanwhile I guess it is safer to get the frontal photos...Will have to rack the house for ALL the docs. The initial notices (AP, EAD atc) are kept safely, organized and well 'coz the motivation was high but come 3rd AP we have been dumping them into some place ;) ..Happy weekend to us!!
