Requirement of Initial Evidence on EAD

My husband and I applied for EAD and AP in March 2004 under 140 and 485 concurrently filing. The RD is 3/30/2004, and ND is 4/2/2004. Since our case was not approved over 90 days, we went to the local office in NYC to apply for an iEAD on 7/1/2004. However we were told that VSC had issued a requirement for initial evidence on our case on 6/17/2004, so they wouldn't issue us an iEAD. The man in the local office couldn't tell us what kind of evidence was required. We called our lawyer, and they didn't receive any letter from VSC. Neither did we. Our status online was not updated. It still reads like: we received your application and mailed you receipt on 4/2....We called the 1-800 number, and were told they could only see the same thing as we did. And if we would not receive the notice for intitial evidence for 30 days, we can call them again.
This is our first time to apply EAD under 485 pending, and we filed the 140 and 485 concurrently with EAD and AP.
Has anyone met the same situation? Any suggestion for what we can do now? Thank you.

RFE on EAD same case here

Hi,

Looks like same case & 100% copy as mine.Me & my wife applied for EAD/AP/140/485 RD is Mar 22 '04.Since we didn't receive EAD over 90 days, we went to local office for iEAD on 2nd july.We were told that there is an RFE on our EAd so they won't issue iEAD,same thing they didn't give details on RFE & also RFE date was mentioned to be june 10 & we didn't receive anything in mail till now,checked online status & it shows still processing & nothing on RFE,called 1-800 & they say same thing as online system ie still processing.I have informed this to my lawyer & my laywer will be sending out a letter to vermont center about this case .lawyer has asked me to wait for 30 days after applying to get any reply.This is the status as of now.Please let me know what is your current status.
