Since several people appear to have requested expediting their OPT application, I thought it might be a good idea to create a new thread to track the success/failure of expediting requests. If you have requested USCIS to expedite your OPT application, please post your experiences below and remember to mention the dates.

Here are my details:
Service Center: Texas
Application filed: 3/24/2009
USCIS receipt date: 3/30/2009
Expedition request date: 6/16/2009

Today is my 81st day since USCIS receievd my application.

Thanks, this will be helpful, I think.

did you have further information about your expediting OPT?
Since I need to apply post-OPT now and I want to expedite my application also.
What kind of document do I need? Any suggestions?

I apply my pre-OPT, but I wait for 3months, this time I don't want to put myself at risk. So I will expedite my OPT once they receive my case.

Thanks

Ken

expedited case - to hear decision within 60 days!!!!!!

On August 3, I request for my EAD card application to be expedited because my job (assistant professor at a university) starts on August 16 (I included the offer letter in my application about 1 and 1/2 months ago) but my EAD receipt # is still showing "Initial Review" in the TSC. I got an email from the TSC on August 4 that my documentation met the requirement for expedited service and that I should get a decision from them within 60 days!!!!! Is that reasonable? Is that how things work? 60 days for expediated service for a job that starts in less than 2 weeks? Should I call them again because I need the card in less than a week now and not in 60 days? Someone shed some light on this for me please. I am really confused!! I need some help here.

I find it hard to believe that you are using OPT in a faculty position. Had you gone to H1B, you would have had the option of PP and have had the university's international staff to assist you. You have a real mess as you cannot work and have left your university in a really bad spot. This is not a good way to start.

Do the H1B filing immediately!!!!!
