Request Interim EAD.

Hi:

I applied EAD card Feb 7th and my current H-1b expires April 20th. If I don't have my EAD approved by then, I will try to get an Interim EAD before that. But if I can't get it, what will happen to my status?

you can only get an interim EAD after 90 days of your receipt date. some local offices make exceptions and give interim before 90 days. (if you show them a letter from your HR saying that you'll be fired if you don't have it)

your status is not in danger in any way as long as you have 485 pending. EAD doesn't hold status, it just lets you to get a job, or to keep your job. I hope this helps.
