My I-140 was approved from California. I have a question regarding the filing of 485. Can I file for 485 and then go to my country, marry and bring my future wife here once I file for 485. I will great greatly appreciate your time and knowledge in this regard. Thanks very much for your suggestions and good luck for you in your case processing.

Sure. Go ahead and file u'r 485 and add u'r wife
after marriage but make sure u'r wife comes to US
before 485 approval which is normally like 1 yr.

One risk is, what if the I-485 is approved before the wedding?

My friend's I-485 (also from California) approved unexpectedly in 5 months so his fiancee missed the chance to be added to his GC approval. Now they have to wait 3+ years for him to file for her GC.

Even though everyone says it takes a year or more, you never know.

INS is going to take its own time on AOS

Go ahead and file for GC as long as you know you are going to get married in the next 6 months or so. Doesn't seem as if INS is likely to process AOS inside of a year.

GC VS WIFE

Both of them are important man :) So, at least you get married before the approval. Even you cannot bring her in US, at least get married so that you can do her consular processing.

On the other hand dont wait too much to file GC because you are not married. Time is not good :) Another war is coming, that will certainly effect the economy once again.
