I filed with immigraion on the 1st of June.
I recieved reciepts for I-486, I-765, and I-130 on the 6th of june.
I did my fingerprint on the 10th of July.

I recieved a letter on the 3rd for Request for INITIAL Evidence. The letter was not very specific. It was asking for tax returns and so on for the sponsor or joint sponmsor. I assumed they were asking for the sponsor because everything was sent in for my joint sponsor. We didn't send anything in for my wife(sponsor) because she just graduated college and was not working. After reading the letter again, I noticed that it said I have to provide information for my sponsor(wife), even if I have a joint sponsor.

So we sent in a letter stating why we didn't submit any tax returns for her. We stated that she is a recent graduate and didn't file taxes, hence the Joint sponsor. We even sent in a compy of her degree with the date of graduation.

This information that we sent in was signed for on the 6th by USIC. We still didn't recieve any update or response. Why is it taking so long? I see that it usually takes them a week or 2 to tell if the Evidence was accepted or not.

Advice please.........

It will take some time for the response, however I would advise you to go make an INFOpass to your local Service center, I would of made an INFOpass before you sent that letter.

I assume you sent this letter to National benefits Center.

I did make an infopass. It is coming up on tuesday. Is there any chance of them giving me my EAD at this infopass? I really wasn't missing anything in my application.
