I applied for change of status from H1 to F1 around March end. I applied a week before getting laid off.
Today, I recieved a letter from INS stating "Please submit a letter from ur H1b employer who verifies ur current employment pursuant to the terms of I-129 H1b petition that was approved for u. This evidence is needed as verification of ur maintenance of ur H1b status for purposes of this status change application Section 248 of I&N Act requires maintenance of the current nonimmigrant status as a requisite for a status-change"
I had applied to Texas INS and am in Dallas. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Please guide as to how to best clarify/satisfy the requirement by INS. Please mail me at adp477@yahoo.com
