request for AOS interview rescheduling

Hi folks: I had received the AOS (family bassed) interview two months ago, and the interview scheduled was on 12th of June 2009.I wanted to rteschedule the interview,therefor i made and infopass appintment but at local DO they gave me an e-mail adress and ask me to request for the inteview reschedule via email. I did so and they have sent me back an replying email that we have received your request and if you dont hear anything in 120 days please contact with your local office. I have aalso called at uscis 1800 no and talked with there IO not regulaer reperesentative but a higher person, twice and they told me ur new interview date is still not yet decided. Anyone have any idea how long its gonna take cuz i am planning t go abroad for 6 weeks and dont know wot to do now.

This is why you never reschedule. You are put back at the end of the line and are at the mercy of USCIS' effective and reliable service.

i'd make another infopass and try to find out... pray you do not get a letter saying "application denied because you did not show up for the interview".

What was the emergency that made you postpone the interview?

ps: do not even think about doing so again.
