"Request file" from National Record Center?

I went to the 3rd infopass yesterday. It was the same officer as in the last two infopass. She said my name check is still pending, however, she can request my file to be transfered from National Record Center to the local office(Denver). So once the name check is cleared, I can be scheduled an interview immediately.

Anybody has similar experience? I thought my file should be in Nebraska Service Center, why National Record Center? Also, as I understand, if the name check is not cleared yet, the file won't be transfered to the local office to schedule interview. Why can she request the file to be transfered? Anybody knows the answer?
