Hello!

I'd like to ask the board the following two questions:

1) Let's say a US Citizen marries someone abroad. The foreign spouse had a GC at one time that s/he obtained by family based sponsorship from father. If this was long time ago and due to the family's relocation back to their home country for a long time, their GC had expired.

Will it be a problem for the spouse to get the GC again if the new US Citizen sponsers the foreign spouse?

2) Are Canadian permanent residents allowed to work in the US with any H1 or L1 type of visas?

1. No, no problem as long as the person is not ineligible for some other reason.
(bars to admission etc.)

2. Yes - countries seldom care about a person's immigration status in another
country.
