I have wife and one daughter(12 yrs old)

applied for
I-485 - three cases (self,wife,daughter)
EAD-2 cases(self,wife)(no ead for daughter because i dont want her to work, note - child artists allowed to work)
AP - 3 cases (self,wife,daughter)

All above 8 cases have generated Notice of action with case numbers which i received from my attorney
I got 2 fp notices for self and wife (daughter too young to be fingerprinted)

The case numbers are mentioned on the notice of actions

The avm number ( 949-831-8427) is also mentioned on notice

If you call avm and punch 1 for english and 1 for entering case number
for example wac-01-270-5xxxx (last four digits in my case i have ommited for confidentiality)
u will get the avm message

The sequence of avm messages will be different in each case that is for I-485 case number it will be different compared to EAD case number and different compared to AP case number

I suggest you explain more about your question

When you get your I485 approval, I know the HIB visa gets cancelled. Does the AVM say that your H1B is now cancelled or does the approved message not change?

when u r approved and if u punch the I-485 case number on the avm it says \'Your case has been approved on xxxxx a notice has been mailed to you and in case u dont receive the notice with 14 days please contact IIO during business hours\'
It should not say that your H1 has been cancelled

with reference to "Does the AVM say that your H1B is now cancelled or does the approved message not change"
Why r u having doubts about your H1B please clarify- have u heard this message or has this happened to any friend/associate of yours ?

I have an associate with an H1B visa who was laidoff some 8 months ago and the AVM does not say cancelled.

if ur associate is checking the avm of his/her avm by punching the I-485 receipt number then I dont think the avm message will say "The H1 B has been cancelled"

The company who sponsored the H1 may or may not inform INS

what is important at this stage is
Has he/she passed 180 days since the filing of his I-485
In case he/she has - he/she does not have to worry
In case he/she has not - then it all depends if the company holding the I-140 of the associate informs/does not inform INS
Avm messages are too general to be accurate in all cases.
I would not depend on them

It would be nice to have specific case details about your associate so that we could guide you more
Please give more details like u have provided in your own case
country/category etc.etc.
