renewal of SSN card after receiving EAD

Do you need to renew your SSN card after receiving the EAD, if you want to do a part time job with 1099, of course maintaining the full time job with your GC petitioner?
 
You don't need to renew SSN after getting EAD because from SSA point of view you are in same status - you are not permitted to work without INS authorization.
But if have spouse who did not get SSN earlier (for example wife with H4 visa) or had a SSN with "Not valid for Work", can get a new SSN or renew SSN status showing her EAD card.
And obviously after GC approval, you should renew your SSN showing your passpport stamp.
