Renewal of EAD and Travel Doc when case is transferred?

Not sure what would be the procedure for renewing those docs if the case is transferred to the local office.
As far as I understand we cannot file to CSC since the case is not there.
Should we go in person to the local office just for the iEAD?
When should we file, how many months/days prior to expiration?
Is full EAD applicable in our case?

Anyone can comment on this?
