Renewal of ₩ork Permit...

İ m in California an SF office I applied renewal of my ₩ork permit ₩hich gona expire on 30 Jan and my application is received on 20 August. ..does anyone have any idea ho₩ long ₩ill it take?

Are you sure you sent your Renewal application on August 20, 2015 and that your current EAD will expire on January 30, 2016? If these are all true, it means you submitted your application 163 days before your expiration.
The earliest you can apply for EAD Renewal is 120 days before expiration.

Did they sent you a receipt saying that your Application was received?

My bad...I sent on 23 December 2015..my lawyer did stupid thing..I called him in November 2015 regarding work permit renewal and he asked me to wait till December to apply...I m left with only 1 month..idiot

Work permit renewal usually take between 90 and 110 days. You might be without EAD for 2 months or a little more depending on their caseload.

But, cross your fingers (and pray a lot) that they decide to process your EAD in 60 days (happen sometimes when they are not busy).
Also, after 60 days if you don't have it, ask your (bad) lawyer to ask for the case to be expedited or at that time you can call yourself the Immigration 1-800 number and ask for expidition. Even though, in many case it will not do you any favor.

Good luck.

thats a long time .

the first time i applied for work permit , i called after 90 days and the case was approved later that date and received the card a week later, you should call the 1800 number and have your info ready.

The normal processing time for First-Time Asylum based EAD is 21 days.
But the normal processing time for Renewal is 90 days.

It's time for me to renew my EAD card, too. I could mail it since 01/06/2016, but I actuall did 01/12/2016. tracking showed that it was delivered today. i mailed it with my personal check, so i should know when they cash it, hopefull tomorrow. otherwise, it will be accepted tue 01/19/2016. i just wasted half a month from the date i was eligible to file for renewal.

Documents included in the renewal application:
1) I-765
2) I-94
3) copynof my current EAD card
4) two passport photo
5) mailer of current EAD card (with bar codes)
6) receipt notice of I-589
7) $380 personal check, payable to US Department of Homeland Security.

Hopefully, I did not miss anything, and will get my new card soon.

This was almost a year ago when I was getting my first EAD card. I applied the the renewal on September 18, 2015. for months before my current EAD expires. it is now 4 months and 4 days and still my EAD renewal is pending. I called the USCIS so many time, requested to expedite my case, went to USCIS local office, filled Ombudsman, contacted my local congressman but still my case is pending in the Nebraska Service Center. I stopped working at first week of January when my EAD card expired. The first time I called to follow up the USCIS office was when my EAD card was pending for 85 days. Really I should have called them earlier but I thought they will complete within 4 months. They transferred my case from Vermont office to Nebraska office when my case was pending 3 months so that the Nebraska office will expedite it, but as per the Congressman's office , The Nebraska office is treating my case as a new case and they are calculating the processing time based on the date that the case was transferred to them which was December 18 not they date i filled my case which was 18 September. I am really frustrated and don't know what to do. Any suggestions or advices?

My Time line.
Filled asylum June 2014

Sorry to hear that they treated your case as a new submission once transferred. That was completely wrong. Won't the congressmen be able to do anything knowing that it was not processed in due time?

Do you know why they transferred your case? If it was to expedite the process, how can it be expedited when they restarted it?

You should have your lawyer/or yourself actively call your congressman/senator and the USCIS 1-800 number to ask them to expedite your case.
You have submitted to USCIS September 18, 2015. And USCIS decided to send your case to Vermont.
So, it is not your fault that Vermont forwarded your case to Nebraska. It is THEIR decisions and you must be punished for THEIR decisions.

I'm in exactly same situation. My EAD renewal is transferred to Nebraska from Vermont. Is there anything I can do to avoid delays. I have applied 110 days in advance to when my EAD will expire
