Renewal fees for EAD RD 8/1/07?

A friend of mine applied in July 07 but his EAD application shows a RD of 8/1/07. Notice date in October 07. Does he need to pay fees for EAD renewal this year?

There was law that took effect on July 30 2007

Simply check your friend's I-485 receipt notice. If it states a payment of $395, then one will have to pay the $340 EAD fee for renewal. If it states $1010, then no fee required.

That is a good point. Will get it checked.

But the law says applied on or after 7/30. It doesn't say anything about fees.

Did the lawyer applied before August 16, 2007? In that case the old fee ($395.00) was applied.

Yes it was applied in July 07 and received on 8/1.
