Renew or Revalidate

Hi,

I am planning to get stamped at Chennai Consulate. So Can i use drop box, for my situation. ie,

I have expired visa stamp on my PP of my previous company.
I have approval i-797 of my current company.

So Could anybody tell me whether it is renewal or revalidation ? And what is the difference between them ?

So My concern is can i use drop box at Chennai Consulate ?
