Renew H1 after break

Hello Everyone

I am currently a resident physician (on H1) to graduate in July 2011 but haven't found a good H1 sponsoring job yet. I am concerned that God forbid if I do not find a job by July and there is a break (I will have to go on J2 because my husband is on J1)..will I still be eligible for an H1 sponsoring job and would it have an impact on my green card application in the future.

You are premature in worrying about a GC since you have no job to sponsor you. First things first. Remember that 2 year HRR likely applies once J status is used. A GC petition does not waive it.

With your stated intent of obtaining a GC, you do not meet the J visa requirements.

My question still stays unanswered..what other option do i have if not J2 until I find a good job.
