Renew EAD while case transferred to Local Office (Wrong Local Office)

Hello Folks,

I am looking for a way to renew my EAD while our case has been transferred to local office. Here is the little story about the case transfer.

We were living in Texas about year and half and then we moved to Columbus OH in early 2004. We did change our address in NSC and produced the AR-11 as per the law. Last month we got a notice from NSC saying that, our case has been transferred to Texas local office. But we no longer live in Texas and we did receive a notice from NSC to the Columbus OH address. We called the NSC to check the address on their file and they advised us that, it’s their mistake to transfer our case to different local office. And we advised by them that, we need to initiate the case transfer to the local office here at Columbus OH. So please let us know, is there any one has the same story to share with us…please help us understand better that, what in the world we are just living.

Also, we need to renew our (3rd EAD) in the coming month. Please let us know where we need to send our EAD renewal, whether we need to send it to NSC or Texas local office/Columbus local office or some where else.

Please folks feed your experience on this strange situation. We are in the process of renewing our EAD this week.

Why don't you file your EAD renewal application electronically at the National Benefits Center at Missouri? Electronic filing is faster and more accurate. While I was in the 485 stage, I renewed my EAD twice from the NBC. The second time, it took more than 90 days and I made an Infopass appointment at the local office to get the EAD. In your case, if you filed your EAD application at the NBC and if it takes longer than 90 days, you can go to the Ohio local office to get the interim EAD.
