Renew EAD, but company hold I140 approval notica

Hello,

I want to renew EAD by myself, but my company's lawyer told me that my I140 approval notice is the company's property so they cannot release a copy to me. From the forum, it looks like I140 approval notice is required for renewing EAD, do I have to use my company's lawyer to renew EAD? They charge $350 lawyer fee for this.

Any suggestion?

I don't think you need copy of I-140 approval for EAD. You base your EAD application on pending I-485 which contains I-140 approval.
 
But I checked this forum about renewal EAD, somebody get RFE for I140 aproval notice when apply EAD renewal.
