Hi,
I received my temporary Green Card in Feb 2008. From notes and previous posts. The steps for getting a permanent Green Card is

Filing form I-751 (submit documents/update similar to ones submitted in I-485.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-751instr.pdf

There is also a mention about Fingerprints- So I do I need to file an additional form or I guess after I submit I-751 'Within the 90 day period of my 2nd anniversary of green card' I will get a FP call, followed by Perm. Creen Card if approved?

Is my understanding correct?

Also, I am getting a bit concerned? How long do we have to wait to get the Temp. Green Card removed? Is there a waiting just like for the Green Card application? The reason being I will be travelling a lot during the end of this year (possibly for 2-4 months) and wondering how this may impact me?

Thanks in advance.

your understanding is correct.

It took me 9 months to remove my conditional residence. It all depend about the office that you have to apply.

Regarding your concern about the traveling, after you submit your i-751 they are going to send you an extension letter, which let you work and travel for a year while your case is pending. good luck
