Remarrying ex husband

My ex husband is a Canadian citizen and we started the immigration process in 2003. He and I separated and divorced in 2007 without ever receiving even an interview after the biometrics appointment.

Now 5 years later we want to be together and try again, but the paperwork looks crazy because the forms ask for previous immigration attempts and I end up writing our names over and over again.

I'm concerned this could be an issue because he was here originally on NATO 2 status and got all his American documentation so he has an American ssn, previous a#, and other stuff.

My biggest concern is that I'll fill the forms out wrong to get him back with a fiancée visa.

It will be very expensive (a few thousand dollars) to have an attorney handle the case from end to end. However, it should cost less than $1000 if you fill out the forms yourself first and gather the supporting documents, then take them to an attorney for a one-time consultation to review your paperwork and tell you what is incorrect or missing. After that you would make the corrections and submit the forms yourself.

If he had one A# from his NATO status and a different one through the old green card process, write the A# from the old green card process wherever it asks for his A#.

Good call

That's actually a really good idea. Have an attorney review it. He only had one A# but it's weird cause he had a ssn and a Virginia drivers license. When I was filling the paperwork out I felt strange putting my name as sponsor and 'previous sponsor' just rubbed me the wrong way. Thanks for the suggestions.
