As of March 31, 2003, only versions of the Application for Naturalization (N-400) dated May 31, 2001 or later will be accepted at the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS). At the time of this writing, the May 31, 2001 Form is the most recent version. Any cases filed prior to March 31, 2003, using earlier editions of the Form, will still be processed but a Request for Evidence may be issued if the submission does not contain all of the information now required under the May 31, 2001 or any later version of the Form that may be issued.
