I know that one of the critical requirements for EB1-OR petition is to have a 'permanent research position' job. Can somebody tell me USCIS's expectation to fulfil the requirement for 'research' definition of the position. I am working for the industry research in the field of Engieering and equivalent to the University research work in this area. Did anybody have any experience of getting RFE regarding the same. Even though my I-140 is already filed in NSC, my attornet seems to be have some concern about it.

Any thought is appreciated.

Not very sure and nothing authentic but just a thought: if the job title is something like "scientist", "member of technical staff", "something research[er] something", etc, and that you have published a whole bunch of articles (~6-10, lesser is just fine if you have some patents) in (international) journals then it should be good enough from the view point of "research" definition.
