My friend On F1 got married to a US citizen recently.

As part of the adjustment requirement my friend went to the designated INS civil surgeon to get his tests. He has been told by the surgeon that he is exposed to Tuberculosis (20 mm but the chest x-ray is normal).

(He does not have active viruses, he is not a threat to anyone but he will have to take preventive medication for 6 months.)His X-ray results are O.K too.

Will this have a negative affect on his I-485/I-30 approval?

Will he be granted adjustment only after taking 6 months of medication.

The doctor told him that it would have no affect on his case.

Please advise.

The doctor is right; this is nothing to worry about. Many people do test positive for the TB test, especially if they have taken BCG before. Your friend will be ok as long as the X-ray results are clear.
