Regarding Fingerprinting requirement for visa stamping

I am an Indian citizen who has been living in the US since 1995 firstly as a student and now as a university professor. I am planning a visit to India in the coming summer and will need H1-B visa stamping.

One of the requirements I found on US embassy Delhi web-site was regarding the finger printing. It says that any cut or abrasions etc. may cause delay or even cancellation of the whole interview process. I have been suffering from a skin condition for almost two years due to which some of my finger tips have broken, scaled or chapped skin. The chances of it getting cleared up by the summer are highly unlikely.

My question is: Will this cause a problem with fingerprinting? If yes, is there an alternate way for such cases? Will a note from my doctor be of any help? or should I just cancel my plans of visit to India.

I will appreciate your response and help in this matter.

best regards,
AA
