Hi Guys,

Recently the MRO of my district in India issued my Birth Certificate which i requested as part of I-485 application.I just received the Certificate from India.

However i donot know why the the MRO forgot to mention my place of birth in the certificate, he did get my birthdate right on my certificate.

I am kinda confused now, should i file that certificate as part of my I485 application or should i request him to send a new certificate which will take a while to get it.

Guys, I need your comments in this matter asap as i have to file my I485 soon.

regards.

Can it be surmised that the place of birth can be assumed to be the MRO- because the MRO 's info is like a letterhead info or signature info?
If that is the case I think you can use this BC.

I believe its not a big deal.......

u can ask ur embessay for correction ...... they will endorsed it. ..........

keep us update if it works for u.

Good Luck

OR...

I actually asked my parents..and some relatives to sign a stamped paper that I was born on certain date at a certain place...I didnt do this MRO thing..So I had 2 stamped documents..one from my dad and other from my mom..

I did the same thing for my wife too..My lawyer told me that, all I need to submit is a proof of birth and someone whoz there at that time..

I submitted these docs and INS didnt come back with questions..

Hope that helps..
