Refund of visa issuance fee..,

Hi,

My husband received a 221(g) letter saying "It has been a year since his visa expired. So he needs to get the visa from US consulate abroad" and the "visa issuance fee will be repaid".

It has been 1 1/2 months and we haven't yet received it. How long will it take for them to refund the money?.

Please share your experience.

I don't know the excat content of your letter, But are they asking you to repay the visa fee?

No! The visa stamping was not done by DC office and they said they will refund the visa issuance fee $75 to us. But we haven't received the money yet even after 1 1/2 months. So I just want to know how long DOS will take to refund the money?.

i think the phone no is 202 663 1225 press 1 and 0.. wait time is normally 45 mins .. normally the person on the phone does not provide much info or answer the questions so you can try. also the visa fee issuance is $50 for indians ... did you pay $75 in error or are you from an other country?

When we submitted the application, it was $75. It has been reduced recently to $50.
