Hi guys, I'm a greencard holder based on Asylum. I haven't got my physical greencard yet.
I need to go overseas next year and I'm wondering which one should I apply for, Travel document or Reentry permit? I have used travel document while my status is still an asylee. What is the difference between travel document and reentry permit? If I'm not mistaken, Travel document is valid for 1 year and reentry permit is valid for 2 years.
For that reason, I prefer to get a reentry permit. It's annoying to have a travel document valid for 1 year when some country required you to have a valid travel document more than 6 months before expiry date. Will I get in trouble if I apply for reentry permit instead of travel document?
