Reentry Permit requirements and working outside the country

I have two questions about the reentry permit conditions:

1. Who can be eligible to apply for a reentry permit? (i.e. Is there a time limit that needs to be spent inside the country before you apply, etc.)

2. When a reentry permit is issued can you work outside the country if you pay your tax?

will appreciate all your replies.

1. Who can be eligible to apply for a reentry permit? (i.e. Is there a time limit that needs to be spent inside the country before you apply, etc.)

You can apply for it as soon as the first day you get your green card. But if you have spent too much time outside the US since your green card was approved (generally this means 4 years total of the past 5 years), the reentry permit will be denied or limited to one year.

2. When a reentry permit is issued can you work outside the country if you pay your tax?

You can work outside the US with or without a reentry permit, but depending on the length and type of employment and who your employer is, working abroad could make you lose your green card or have your citizenship denied. Describe your plans to work abroad, and state whether it is for a US employer.
