Reentry permit processing

Hello,
How long does it take for a reentry permit to be processed? How long does it take between the application and fingerprinting?

After you file is it okay if you leave and then you indicate a mailing address in the US so that someone forwards it to you?
 
As far as I remember, it was one month between application and fingerprinting and the approval came surprisingly quickly after that (2 weeks maybe??)

You can leave after application and come back for fingerprinting.

Yes, you can. You can also indicate on the form that you want the permit sent to an US consulate abroad and then you will be able to pick it up yourself.
