reentry permit/GC

Hi all, this is my first post and I will try to make my point clear~~ Thanks in advance!

We, as a family, got GC since Mar 2008. My parents want to go back to China and plan to live in US couple years later.

I have already get them 2 reentry permits with 2 years back to back. ( but they do come back to US every year for a month)(they filed tax and have w2 from a US company and real estate)

I have read some posts here saying the 3rd reentry permit is really really difficult to get and only last for 1 year.

Also I can apply for USC next Mar since I was here for 5 years already.

So should my parents just forget about the reentry permit (( just come back every 6 month)) or forget about the GC, and I can apply for them again when they need it?

Sorry for the long story :) and thanks again for your help!!

If they're not going to genuinely reside in the US, they should officially surrender their green cards at a consulate with form I-407, instead of risking having it forcibly canceled. If they surrender it officially and voluntarily, it will be easy for them to get a tourist visa. They can even interview for a tourist visa during the same visit to the consulate when they surrender the card.
