I, my wife and daughter have GC. My wife and myself live in US. My daughter is staying in India and going to school there for about 2 years now. Is it necessary for me get a reentry permit for my daughter?. Will there be any problem for daughter's green card. For one thing we do not have any intention of abandoning residence in US because we live and work here.

Yes she is in India for past 2 years. Will there be any problem to her GC ?.
Will she be allowed to enter US say after another year because she has no intention of abandoning her GC - because I live here?

The green card I-551 automatically expires on the first anniversary of departure form US unless a re-entry permit is available.
In your case your daughter's green card is considered expired. She will have to apply for a Returning Resident visa at the nearest US consulate. This visa is issued only if the applicant can show that the stay outside US was due to circumstances beyond one's control. I am not sure if studying outside US constitutes a good reason for the RR visa.

Can "vaithsr" become citizen and then apply for citizenship for his unmarried daughter (I assume she will be unmarried and below the age of 21), this is then one route by which his daughter could saty in india for few more year, loose the GC that she has had now and become citizen again.

After getting US citizenship one first needs to apply for green card for her daughter. Once GC is approved and ther person comes to live in the US the minor child can apply for citizenship.
