I have a green card and I am currently in India. I would have completed 5 years of having a GC next year (2007). I have a reentry permit and after 5 months of being in India am travelling to the US. Currently my plan is stay there for a week or 10 days. I wanted to confirm whether the duration is enough to stay eligible for citizenship or should I extend my stay? I am filing my taxes and have maintained my bank accounts and credit cards. I am going to travel back to the country in another 6 months time. Does anyone have an idea about the length of the stay required on a re-entry permit? Does the duration matter?
