Reentry permit after leaving USA

My mother holds green card and we applied for her 2 years re-entry permit just 5 days before she was leaving USA.
By mistake on USCIS check for I-131 I had written wrong year (2007 instead of 2006) so they returned her application asking to send corrected date check. By the time we received her packet back, she was out of USA. I corrected date on the check and send packet back to USCIS. Now her 2 years permit is already approved expires in Nov-08. Would she be able to use this reentry permit given above scenario or at POE they will create problems?

The application is considered properly filed when USCIS accepts it. In your mother's case it happened to be while she was out of US. Therefore, it is invalid.

When she travels back to the US it is possible that immigration officer will notice that (if this info would show up in his/her computer). If by that date she'd be outside US for more than a year, she may be deemed having abandoned her permanent residency and denied entry.

I suggest you discuss it with an attorney and not rely on an advice on this board.
