redo I-485 fingerprinting

I did I-485 fingerprint in Newark on Nov.8, 2002. I just received a letter from them (12/21/02) saying that they need to have me in redoing the fingerprint. The letter is titled as 'fingerprint notification-- reschedule notice'. It says : 'Dear Application: It has been determined that you must have your fingerprints retaken...' it is scheduled on Jan.3 2003 now. Does anybody know what this means? Would this rescheduling affect the process of my I-485 application? I'm really worried about this. Thank you very much!

It probably means that the first set of fingerprints that you submitted were not very clear, or were unreadable.

The processing of your I-485 will be delayed for as long as it takes for you to submit a clear and readable set of prints.

Apart from the slight delay in processing, there is nothing else to worry about.
