Redo I-140 question

My company name changed after I applied for I-485.
My I-140 and I-485 has the same name(old name). I don\'t know if
my lawyer informed INS about the name change.
Can anybody tell me if this is a problem?
I saw many people posting on this board redo I-140 RFEs due to
company name Change/mergers and i\'m concerned.

I think you should not have any problems. The reason is both your 140 and 485 have the same company name. If the name of the company was different on both, due to merger/acquisition, you will get a RFE to redo 140 - like my case. My redo 140 got approved on Aug 25th. I am waiting for approval.
Another scenario - if you have real bad luck - I have seen only one case. Say, if you get a RFE to submit pay stubs, W2,etc. Then you will send those documents with the new company\'s name. Then you will get a second RFE to redo 140.
As for now, do not worry. Wait and see what happens.

Hi akp,
   Can u tell me whether it would take the same amount of time as a normal 140 to redo amended 140 on account of acquistion/merger. I am in the same situation as you awaiting FP and approval and my company recently got bought out. Also do they do the same amount of scrutiny as a normal 140 for the ammended one , is there no advantage of having cleared 140 earlier.
