They may not have updated the system yet. No need to worry. You may also check the way you enter the receipt.

You may have two receipt numbers on the NOA!!!

I had the same experience. But When I looked at the lower left corner of the Notice of Action - I found a different case number! And it worked in the status check system. Try that and let me know what happened.

diffferent no

Well the receipt at the top starts with ESC* and the number at the bottom starts with ESC$
Both numbers did not work ??

Yes you are right!

You are right Vol-Va! I just realized the number at the lower left corner leads to someone else's case that was submitted a month earlier than mine!

My PD is 11/16/04, and up to this date the website system still can not find my receipt number!

Does anyone have the same problem or is this normal? The Q&A on the website says the system is updated daily and during the day....

This is normal. My case was never online and still is not. I called the CIS customer service and they said it is normal for N-400 applications not to be online.

The online status system for N400 is practically useless. Even when your status will be updated online (which can be anywhere from 1 month onwards to never), the information provided there (including your receipt date etc) may be incorrect. The worst thing would be that they would likely say "it currently takes between 30 - 60 days to process this kind of case" ! Lest you jump in joy and hurt your head on the ceiling, desist .. these numbers bear no resemblence to reality in any of the CIS offices anywhere in the country.

So please dont expect the online status to give you anything useful other than the disclaimers!
