Reciept Notices (I-797) - Name Misspelled

Thanks for sharing your experience with misspelled name on Reciept Notices.
Did you call the NCSC (i.e. after June 2003) or the Service Center numbers (before June 2003). Also, did they re-issue Reciept Notices with correct name or acknowledge your mail request letter that action has been taken. How did you know that it was corrected in their database.

Name misspelled
My case is way before 18 months..
RD : 12/17/01
ND : 12/19/01
I called NSC as soon as I received the receipt Notices for I485/131/765. That was sometime in Jan 2002.
My name was misspelled in I485 and I765. Called them and they asked me to write a letter along with copy of the birth certificate. I would suggest you to keep the copies of the letter you are sending them and send it with return receipt/acknowledgement to have prooft to say that it has been delivered to them. Call them after a month or two to check whether the change has been reflected.
In your case if you haven't received the EAD card you can check whether it has been corrected after you sending the request for correction.
To know whether it has been changed - Mine I received the Finger Print Notice some time in June 2002 and my name change was reflected.
Infact my EAD was also misspelled but I changed it when I did my Renewal after 9 months before 1 year expiration. Sent a letter alongwith the application with copies of DOB certificate with request letter for correction. it worked for me and they sent the new EAD with name correction.
