What is the difference between reciept date & notice date? Does BCIS process applications based on reciept date OR notice date? I was provided a RD by my lawyer - how can I find out the ND? Any information is appreciated.

Research on the web .....

RD Receipt Date.
Applications are stamped with the time and date of physical receipt, not the time and date they are actually opened.

ND Notice Date.
The date when your information is keyed into the INS computer system and fees processed by the Data Entry unit.

How can I find out my ND - can I call VSC & talk to an IIO?

Reciept Date & Notice Date

Your I-485 reciept's reciept date (RD) is the date BCIS recieved your I-485 application.

BCIS entry into their system is the BCIS reciept date for your I-485. BCIS sends a reciept with this date as reciept notice date (RD).

Approval notices indicate the reciept notice date (ND) as the BCIS reciept date. When some one talks to IIO, the reciept notice date is read as your I-485 reciept date.

When you make a call to IIO, they refer the reciept notice date (ND) as your I-485 reciept date.
