I got my US certificate of naturalization last month.

I have applied for N-600 for my child (10 years old - US green card holder). I have received US passport for my child.

My company wants to send me to India for 1..2 years on temporary assignment.

Q1. Please let me know how can I receive the certificate of naturalzation for my child without making any trip to US (with my child) in the next 1..2 years. Can they send the paperwork to US consulate in India?

Q2. Will physical absence from US cause any problem in this processing ? Is there any form which I need to file for my daughter for physical absence (similar to N-470).

Q3. Can I file application for certificate of naturalization for my child from US consulate in India? Do I still have to come to US to receive this certificate?

Please note that I was told by the officer during my naturalization ceremony that it taskes approx 2 months for N-600 forem processing and getting certificate of naturalzation for 10 years old chile with green card. I was also told that this certificate is sent directly to the home address through certified mail. But the experice of the folks on this site state otherwise (9+ months + interview). Looks like office was not having clear picture of N-600 processing.

Thanks a lot in anticipation of your early reply.

You can check the processing time for N-600 on the website of USCIS .ee what is proceeing time for your DO. Generally it is not more than 2-3 months.
The certificate will not come automatically in Mail after filing the application.
There will be an interview at your local DO. After filing N-600, you will get the notification of interview date within 1-2 months. At the interview , you as USC and the child both have to show up. I do not thinks there is any way to avoid that.
As I know , US consulate abroad will not issue the certi of citizen.
N-600 processing does not fall within their jurisdiction but with local DO.

The answer is no to the above question. You have to be here in the US.

The processing time varies from district to district. USCIS do not mail certificates in the mail. You and your child has to go to USCIS office and they will verify all the necessray documents and then issue the Certificate of Citizenship.
