Recent LUDs- anyone found out what they mean?

I noticed multiple cases in this forum with recent LUDs on their 485. The LUDs came in two, back to back. Has anyone had any luck and found out from an IO what they mean? I also noticed a couple of cases who had two LUDs back to back in July and their cases approved on July 31st.

In my case, I had LUDs on 7/18 and 7/19. I tried to find out what caused these LUDs, but no luck. I am guessing these could be name check clearance but who knows. If there's any one out there who had their cases approved after multiple LUDs in July or talked to an IO, please post your comment.

biometric y'day and lud change on I485

I went for biometric code -2 yesterday and by y'day LUD on I485 had changed to 7/31, today it changed again to 8/1...I hope this is a positive sign though I know that today all categories are unavailable.

My case was transferered from local office to TSC in early july ( from what I found thru infopass appointment)

By looking at the post by avi_gc in this thread (http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=259814), we can probably interpret the LUD change as the case getting assigned to an officer provided all the name & security checks are cleared. At least, I'd like to believe so p look at my signature)

I got a response to my SR indicating that my I485 application is in the process of being moved into I485 exams area as of 07/26 and 07/27...
That explains LUD update on my case on 07/27....

What does 485 Exams area mean?
