recent company lay offs affect gc?

My company recently laid off 15%. I am waiting for my company to submit my application for LC.
I heard rumors that LC will definitely be rejected when your company is laying off people. But how can anybody get LC approved, every company is laying off people.

cliff,

Get a good lawyer - this is not true that your case will definitely be rejected. Lawyers play a good role in such cases.

cliff/jharkhandi ,

As per my information, when your case will finally come up for consideration, DOL might issue NOF if layoffs have taken up
in the last six months in your company (i.e. six months immediately preceding the current review by the Certifying Officer). This is as per Ziegler memorandum of DOL. Of course a good lawyer can make a lot of difference.

If the LC was filed in May 2001, but the company laid off people in May 2002, does it affect the approval of LC? Thanks,
