Receiving Plastic Card

Our 485 was approved on July 31, 2004 and we had our stamping done in second week of August. My wife already received her plastic card in the mail - I haven't yet received any email updates about my card having been ordered - how long does it normally take? Should I call the USCIS Cust. service or just wait and watch for a few more days?

According to the BCIS officers, it can take up to one year to receive plastic cards, but you can call Customer Service now. No harm.

Don't worry. You will recieve your plastic card soon. At least, you are already approved and you have a stamp on your passport.

Some people got their green card plastic card in 6 months and some people got them in a year.

You can call Customer Service.

there is a message from bcis on their website or you can follow this link https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
the message says that if you haven't received the card within 60 days after you got the approval, you can call them. good luck.

I called after 30 days of approval, a nice lady picked up. They ordered my card the next day

I called them today!!!

60 days passed since we had our interview done in NYC-26 Federal Plaza,we all got approved and our passports were stamped at that time,they said that cards can take from 5 to 9 months to arrive but I decided to call them anyway...A nice lady spoke to me on the phone,she said that I should not worry about it and sometimes it takes up to one year...but I told her that the web site info. is that we should call after 60 days...and she said that she was going to make a inquiry on our case(me,spouse and 2 sons).She made the inquiry,confirmed our address,full name,DOB,country where we were born,etc. She said that we are going to receive some letter from INS with info regarding our case, and if nothing happen in 30 days I have to call back...
I also asked her if my passport expires and I have to renewal it,what should I do?Get another stamp on the new passport or travel with 2 passports(old and new)She did not know the answer!!!

GC Card

I have done the passport stamped in NYC on 9/24/04. I hope I will get the card as soon as possible. If during the time I move to a new address, do I need to fill out the change address form? During this time if I lost my passprt, what I need to do? Thank you so much for this forum. thank you guys for your info. I will call the customer service after 60 days.
