Hi-
I am a naturalized USA citizen. My parents are visiting USA. They have 10 yr multiple visa. They came here om March 14 4002. They got 6 months on theri I-94 (i.e Sep 13 2004). I requested for 6 more months their extension and got approved.

The following is the timeline:
1) Mailed extension form on July 24, 2004.
2) Recevied a receipt notice on August 6 2004, with receipt date July 29, 2004.
3) Recevied approval notice on August 14 2004, with notice date August 10 2004.

I requested for extension upto March 10 2005 and got the extension till March 10 2005.

Good Luck

I-94 extension

Hi !

Congrats on the extension. I am about to do the same for my mother. Her I-94 expires on Oct 25th. I am planning to apply for the extension for another 3 months, early next week. Could you tell me what documents you had submitted ?

Right now, my list looks as below :-

1) Original I-94
2) Form I-539
3) Affidavit of support (signed by me)
4) Covering letter explaining the circumstance (my father passed away recently)
5) An e-mail from the travel agent showing that 'the return ticket has been blocked on Jan 8th 2005'. I will also include a copy of ticket booked for Oct 15th.

Now, is the fee $195/- or $120/-. I see it is different on different websites.

Please tell me if I am overlooking something.

Thanks a bunch !
Anand,.

Anad,
The following is the list I mailed:

1) Photocopy of I-94
2) Form I-539
3) Affidavit of support (signed by me)
4) Covering letter explaining the circumstance (my Parents are too old to make one more trip and planning to go to Disney & enjoy with grand kids)
5) I did not include a return ticket.

Now the fee is $195/ per application. I applied for both my parents on one applicationa and paid only $195.00. I received 2 letter one per each with new I-94.

Best of luck

B Visa extension pending since July 10, 2004

I applied on the Web on July 10, 2004 and sent in all supporting documents via mail a week later.

I received the receipt notice dated July 12th.

1. Has there been any approvals for applications made over the web?

2. How long do would it take to know about the end result of this application. My parents I94 is expiring Sep 20th.

3. If I dont hear back by Sept 20th, Should I ask them to leave so that they dont become out of status (just in case if their visa is rejected)?

Appreciate your help.

thanks,

Mitwaaa,

I am also planning to apply for extension for my parents. They have I-94 until 14th october. If I get your situation I would send my parents back before their I-94 expires. The problem is if they deny application after I-94 expiration date they will be out of status.

I have question in I-539 form ==>Part1 information==>Expires on column==>which date you put in this coulmn?... visa expired date or I-94 exired date?

Thanks
