This is unbelievable..actually with the INS nothing is unbelievable I guess.
In March this year I received my I140 and the lawyers sent off for Packet 3, (I am doing Consular Processing). I was on the home run, greencard in 4 months...YES!
They called today to say that they had good news and bad news...
The good news is that they have already received the bill for my case - 2 months earlier than expected. All they need to do is send off the check and they will receive Packet 3 and an appointment will be made for the US consulate in London. EXCELLENT I thought...
The bad news is that because the company I work for was acquired late 2003 they had to apply for an 'amendment' to my I140 - this turns out to be processed like a normal case which means that I am now waiting for a second I140 that they filled in February 2004 and I cannot continue until it is approved.
How the lawyer could think that receiving something from the INS early was good news when we cannot use it for another 4 or 5 months is beyond me. One step forward, two steps back - I seem to have the lawyers and the INS beating me down now.
It sucks - but I am glad to be back on my favorite forum...
Does this all sound legit to you guys?
