Received new H1b approval, how to bring family

Hi,

I changed my employer and got a new I-797 with I-94 valid upto Nov 2004.
I have an old visa stamp from previous employer valid upto Oct 2003.
My previous employer cancelled my h1b.

in this situation i have following questions.

1) Can I use the old unexpired visa from previous employer
and New I-797 from current employer for travelling arbroad and reenter united states.
2)Can my wife join me in US on her old H4 visa valid upto Oct 2003,which is based on my cancelled H1B.
